Finding advocates, sending requests and booking consultations on Mara Vakil are free for clients. Mara Vakil does charge for its legal document services, such as affidavits, notices, agreements and gazette work, when you order them. This policy explains when you can cancel such an order and how refunds work, and what to do if anyone asks you for money in Mara Vakil's name.
Finding and consulting advocates
Searching advocates, sending requests, booking and tracking consultations are free. Mara Vakil takes no money for these and no share of any advocate's fee. Fees for an advocate's professional work are agreed and paid directly between you and the advocate, and any refund of those fees is a matter between you and the advocate.
Legal document services
When you order a service from our legal services pages, such as a name change in the gazette, an affidavit or a legal notice, Mara Vakil charges a service fee. The fee is shown on the service page or quoted to you on a call before any work begins.
- Payment only after you confirm. We ask for payment only after you have agreed to the quoted fee and the scope of work. You receive a receipt for every payment.
- Government fees and third-party costs. Amounts paid on your behalf to a government office or a third party, such as stamp duty, court fees, gazette charges, newspaper advertisements and notary charges, are shown separately. Once paid to that office or party, they cannot be refunded by Mara Vakil.

How to ask for a refund
Email help@maravakil.in with your order number, registered mobile number and the reason. We reply within 3 working days. Approved refunds are made to the original payment method within 7 working days of approval; your bank may take a few more days to show the credit.
Advocates
Mara Vakil does not offer paid advocate plans at present. Joining, being listed and accepting client requests are free for advocates. There are no plan fees, so there is nothing for advocates to renew, cancel or refund.
If paid plans for advocates are introduced later, their renewal, cancellation and refund terms will be added to this page before any payment is taken.
Money asked for in Mara Vakil's name
- Pay Mara Vakil only for a legal document service you have ordered, against a fee confirmed to you, and keep the receipt.
- Do not pay anyone who asks for money for a Mara Vakil listing, verification, a higher position, or to "fix" an advocate or a case. We do not charge for any of these, and we never ask for OTPs or card PINs.
- Report it to help@maravakil.in with the person's name, number and any payment reference, so we can warn others and act on it.
