These terms apply to the Intern Hub on Mara Vakil: to advocates who post internship or junior advocate openings, and to students and new advocates who apply.
1. What the Intern Hub is
The Intern Hub lets advocates whose profile Mara Vakil has approved post openings, and lets students apply for them. Mara Vakil only passes the application to the advocate. Mara Vakil is not the employer or the internship provider and does not place, train or supervise interns.
2. For students and applicants
- You must be 18 years or older to apply. Mara Vakil does not accept applications from minors.
- Give true details. Do not upload anything that is not yours.
- Applying is free. Mara Vakil does not charge students, and advocates must not ask for any payment to give an internship. If anyone asks you to pay, report it to us.
- The work, timings, place, duration and any stipend are agreed directly between you and the advocate. Check that the internship meets the requirements of your college and the Bar Council of India Rules of Legal Education, 2008.
- You can check the status of your application, or delete it together with your CV, at any time from the Intern Hub using your application ID and mobile number.
3. For advocates who post openings
- Only advocates with an approved Mara Vakil profile can post. Your name and enrolment number are shown on the posting.
- Our team checks every posting before it goes live and may reject or close a posting that is unclear, misleading or against these terms.
- Do not use words such as best, top or guaranteed, and do not use a posting to advertise for clients (Bar Council of India Rule 36).
- Do not ask applicants for money. Treat applicants fairly and without discrimination, and follow the law that applies to anyone working in your office, including the law on prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace.
- Use applicants' details only to consider them for your opening. Do not share or keep them for any other purpose, and delete them when you no longer need them.
4. Personal data
Applicants' name, contact details, college details, note and CV are shared with the advocate who posted the opening and with the Mara Vakil team. Records of closed or rejected postings are deleted one year after the last change. More details, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, are in the Privacy Policy.
5. Responsibility
Mara Vakil checks the advocate's enrolment and reads each posting, but cannot guarantee any internship or its outcome. Report a problem through our Grievance Redressal page or by calling +91 98913 43962.
6. Changes
We may update these terms and will show the new date at the top of this page.
