Right to Information Act 2005 har citizen ka right hai government information access karne ka. Almost all public authorities covered.
Information jis department ke paas hai, wahi Public Information Officer (PIO) ko application bhejni hai.
Application kisi bhi language me ho sakti hai. Include karein:
30 days ke andar response na milne par, 30 days ke andar First Appellate Authority (FAA) ko appeal karein.
FAA ke baad bhi nahi mila to Central / State Information Commission me 90 days ke andar appeal. Heavy fines (up to Rs 25000) PIO par lag sakte hain.
Section 8 exemptions: sovereignty/security, court contempt, cabinet papers, personal information (privacy), trade secrets, foreign government information.

जानकारी जिस विभाग/मंत्रालय के पास है, उसी के लोक सूचना अधिकारी (पीआईओ) को आवेदन भेजें।
आवेदन किसी भी भाषा में हो सकता है। शामिल करें:
30 दिन में प्रतिक्रिया न मिलने पर, 30 दिन के अंदर प्रथम अपीलीय प्राधिकारी (एफएए) को अपील करें।
एफएए के बाद भी नहीं मिला तो केंद्रीय / राज्य सूचना आयोग में 90 दिनों के अंदर अपील। पीआईओ पर भारी जुर्माना (25 हजार रुपये तक) लग सकता है।

PIO must provide reasons under Section 8/9. You can appeal to FAA, then to Information Commission. Commissions can fine PIO Rs 250/day (max Rs 25000).
Generally no Section 8(1)(j) protects personal information unless larger public interest is shown.
